MAGGIE BURNETTE STOGNER, DIRECTOR & EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Maggie brings 30 years of award-winning filmmaking experience to this project and is the Executive Director of the Center for Environmental Filmmaking at American University. She is founder of Blue Bear Films, an independent production company of documentaries and world-touring museum films http://maggiebluebear.media. She was a producer and Senior Producer of National Geographic’s weekly series “Explorer” for nine years. Her acclaimed indie film about criminal justice “In the Executioner’s Shadow”(2018) is distributed by New Day Films. She is an executive member of WIFV in Washington D.C., a voting member of the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences, and a judge for National Emmy Awards.
ELIZABETH JOY HERZFELDT-KAMPRATH, PRODUCER
Elizabeth is an award-winning filmmaker focused on telling character driven stories at the intersection of the natural world and society. She is an American University, School of Communication alumna.
SHANNON LAWRENCE, RESEARCHER & ARCHIVIST
Shannon is a filmmaker working to create impactful documentary and narrative media. She is currently based in Los Angeles. She is an American University, School of Communication alumna.
PENNY TRAMS, EDITOR
Penny has been editing films since the early 90’s and her work has received numerous national and international awards, including: the Peabody award, National Emmy Awards, Blue Ribbon/American Film Festival, Cindy Gold Awards, Columbus Gold Awards, Houston Gold Awards, and BACA Outstanding Documentary Award.
MATTHEW CIPOLLONE, CINEMATOGRAPHER
Matt Cipollone is a documentary cinematographer, editor and producer. He specializes in helping socially-minded foundations and organizations tell their stories and showcase their important work through film and media. He is an American University School of Communication alumnus.
MATT TWIFORD, SOUND RECORDIST, DESIGNER & MIXER
Matt Twiford is a location recordist, sound designer and mixer from Washington, D.C. He is a Professorial Lecturer in Audio Technology at American University and School of Communication alumnus.
